Pal Mpeg2 encoding for DVD-Lab Pro using TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress

1. Open TMPGEnc and click start new project -

2. Click add file and browse for your video file -

3. If the source aspect ratio is 16:9, you must manually set this -

4. If you don't wish to encode the entire avi, you can set a start and end -

5. You may want to hide a few pixel at top and bottom with a black mask, this is handy for hiding time code and head switch points  -

6. Now load the Pal template and save it as a custom template once you made some changes, this way you can load the custom template for future projects -

7. If you have a fast computer, VBR makes sense with the following settings - but Constant Quality and Constant bit rate give very good results.

8. Be sure you have purchased the ac3 encoder and use these settings -

9. Set output to closed GOP

10. Click Encode and set output path, then click start output
