Inscriber Titlemotion Pro for Edius - Getting Smooth Roll

Use a safe roll speed, this will make text look better and will roll smoother

Pal 576 vertical lines, a title length of 576 frames (23 sec and 1 frame) will give a good slow roll, assuming there is only 1 page of text, if there are 2 pages of text, double the time to 1152 (46 sec and 2 frames) frames (text rolls 1 vertical line per frame, this makes it smooth)

Now, lets speed things up to 2x speed and still keep it smooth

576 divided by 2 = 288frames per page of text (11 sec and 13 frames)
lets assume 3 pages of roll text (288x3=864frames) (34 sec and 14 frames)

Now lets speed things to 4x speed and still keep it smooth

576 divided by 4 = 144 frames per page of text (5 sec and 19 frames)

Now lets speed things to 6x speed and still keep it smooth

576 divided by 6 = 96 frames per page of text (3 sec and 21 frames)

Now lets speed things to 8x speed and still keep it smooth

576 divided by 8 = 72 frames per page of text (2 sec and 22 frames)

now lets speed things to 12x speed and still keep it smooth

576 divided by 12 = 48 frames per page of text (1 sec and 23 frames)
lets assume there are 5 pages of text and we like this speed, simply multiply 48x5=240frames ( 9 sec and 15 frames)

The same formula can be used for NTSC, but instead of using 576, use 480 for DV formats and 486 for analogue formats.
