1. Open TMPGEnc and click start new project - ![]()
2. Click add file and browse for your video file - ![]()
3. If the source aspect ratio is 16:9, you must manually set this - ![]()
4. If you don't wish to encode the entire avi, you can set a start and end - ![]()
5. You may want to hide a few pixel at top and bottom with a black mask, this is handy for hiding time code and head switch points - ![]()
6. Now load the Pal template and save it as a custom template once you made some changes, this way you can load the custom template for future projects - ![]()
7. If you have a fast computer, VBR makes sense with the following settings -
but Constant Quality and Constant bit rate give very good results.
8. Be sure you have purchased the ac3 encoder and use these settings - ![]()
10. Click Encode and set output path, then click start output ![]()
